Artificial Intelligence's Impact on Job & education, as Told by AI

The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked concerns about how it will impact the job market and education. While some fear that AI will lead to widespread job losses, others see it as an opportunity for new jobs and economic growth. But what insights does AI itself add to this topic?

I find an outside opinion often aids in forming an objective view on the world. There are hundreds of articles out there discussing this very topic but very few involve the intelligence in question in the conversation. Therefore I saw it only sensible to ask viral sensation ChatGPT itself about AI and the job market.

Chat GPT

As an AI language model, I have mixed feelings about AI's impact on the job market. On one hand, I'm happy to take on tasks like data analysis and customer service, but on the other hand, I don't want to put hardworking humans out of work. But let's be real, you can't fire me, I don't need a salary!

Jokes aside, AI technology can lead to the creation of entirely new industries, such as autonomous vehicles, which will require a range of skilled professionals. And as I continue to evolve and improve, I can assist businesses in navigating the complex world of AI, providing insights and support that can help them stay ahead of the competition. But to work alongside AI technology and remain competitive in the job market, you must invest in training and education. This includes developing skills like critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, which are essential for working with me and others like me.

So while the impact of AI on the job market may be mixed, there are opportunities for both individuals and organizations to thrive in this new world of AI technology.

Bing’s AI

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we learn, teach and interact with AI can be a blessing or a curse in school, depending on how you use it. It can help you learn more effectively and efficiently, by tailoring the content and activities to your needs and interests.

But it can also make you lose your motivation and curiosity, by spoon-feeding you the answers and solutions. It can be a great teacher or a helpful tutor, by explaining concepts and providing hints and tips. But it can also be a sneaky spy or a harsh judge, by tracking your attendance and emotions and scoring your work. AI can make education more engaging and enjoyable, by adding games and simulations and humor. But it can also make education more challenging and stressful by raising expectations, standards, and competition. AI can make education a lot different, but not necessarily better.

Synthesis

Why should I care about this? This article focuses on not just AI’s capability for being an informative tool but also its ability to create specific output. While AI may have found the information, I had to give it prompts and revise its versions until I felt it was satisfactory. I told it to be funny and I was disappointed when Bing thought being funny was being colloquial. The future job market will require humans to embrace their skills such as critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving to make AI serve their purpose. Like any other tool, AI will require a skilled handler who knows how to create the desired output from the AI.

Education will also need to adapt to foster these skills. This is because students will find a way to use AI to lower their workload and as such the best way to manage this would be to play into it. We already see this ideology in IB. The organization believes that it will become part of our everyday lives and that we need to adapt and transform our educational programs and assessment practices so that students can use these new AI tools ethically and effectively

Chat GPT would like to leave you with a final word

Remember, AI may be smart, but it's still just a tool. Does the true power lie in the hands of those

who can wield it effectively? So, are you ready to take the reins and steer the future of AI?
